Premier Meets Singapore Senior Minister, NRECC Minister At COP28
DUBAI, Tues: Sarawak’s Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg now here to attend COP28 this afternoon met with Singapore’s Senior Minister and Coordination Minister for Security, Teo Chee Hean on the sideline of the world conference on climate change.
In the one-hour four eye meeting, they discussed various issues notably on economic co-operation and collaboration with Singapore.
Earlier in the day Singapore through Surbana Jurong Infrastructure Pte. Ltd. signed a MOU with Sarawak through InvestSarawak Sdn. Bhd. at COP28.
The MOU covers areas of collaboration in industry transformation, energy transition, industrial decarbonisation, CCUS, and industrial park development and management with a view to develop low carbon industries in Sarawak.
This was followed by the Premier’s visit to the Malaysian Pavilion at COP28 where he was received and briefed by key ministry officials before taking time off to attend a panel session at the venue.
Later, the Premier and members of his delegation had a short meeting with the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad at the same venue.
